Buying direct from Mallorca Cathedral is the cheapest and simplest option for almost everyone, as long as your date is fixed: tickets are non-refundable and the official website isn't always easy to use. If you need flexibility or want to pay through a platform you already use, the mark-up on GetYourGuide or Tiqets is one euro.

What Mallorca Cathedral sells direct

The cathedral sells two products through its website catedraldemallorca.org, its online shop and the ticket desk on Plaça de la Seu:

  • Catedral de Mallorca: the cathedral and the Museu d'Art Sacre de Mallorca (MASM), the former Diocesan Museum, with an optional audio guide.
  • Cathedral + Terraces: all of the above plus a one-hour guided visit across the roofs, from March to the end of November, in slots every 30 minutes (Monday to Friday 10:00–16:30, Saturdays 10:00–13:30). Over-9s only and not wheelchair accessible.

The terraces aren't sold separately: they always come with the cathedral. There's no sightseeing on Sundays and on Saturdays it closes at 14:15. All the practical detail (opening times, dress code, getting there) is in our Palma Cathedral guide.

The cathedral wins on price. The gap with GetYourGuide and Tiqets is small; with Headout it's bigger, because a service fee is also added at checkout.

Discounts only the ticket desk gives

This is the big advantage of buying in person. With ID, at the desk:

  • Children aged 9 and under: free.
  • Residents of, and people born in, the Balearic Islands: up to 100 % off (terraces €8 for residents; free on Fridays for residents of the diocese).
  • Disability of 65 % or more: free, plus one companion.
  • Over-65s, students, unemployed and disabled visitors: €8.

No platform applies these discounts. If you're travelling with young children, buy your own ticket online to use the fast-track entrance and get theirs, free, at the desk.

What travellers say

Cathedral tickets are rated 4.6 on all three platforms: over 17,000 reviews on GetYourGuide, over 4,200 on Tiqets and about 1,700 on Headout, where the terraces ticket adds another 210 with the same rating. People like the visit. What can spoil it has nothing to do with where you buy, but with the cathedral's rules, which are worth knowing before you go:

  • Sundays: no sightseeing, Mass only.
  • Dress code: shoulders covered and nothing shorter than mid-thigh; the staff enforce it.
  • Luggage: there's no left-luggage and bulky bags aren't allowed.
  • Terraces with children: under-10s can't go up.

If you're looking for reviews of the platforms themselves, see our reviews of GetYourGuide, Tiqets and Headout.

How to book and cancel

How to buy the official ticket

  1. Go to catedraldemallorca.org and click through to its ticket shop (direct link).
  2. Choose "Catedral de Mallorca" (€10) or "Catedral + Terrazas" (€25). For the terraces, pick a time slot.
  3. Pay and save the ticket on your phone.
  4. On the day, go in through the fast-track entrance at the Portal del Mirador. For the terraces, the meeting point is the Portal de l'Almoina, inside the cathedral.

Cancellation: the official ticket cannot be changed or refunded. You only get your money back if the cathedral cancels the visit.

On the platforms it depends on the listing. GetYourGuide usually refunds you if you cancel more than 24 hours ahead, unless the listing says otherwise, and its "reserve now, pay later" charges your card 72 hours before. Tiqets only allows cancellation if the product says so. Headout may refund you in credit on its website rather than to your card.

Is it worth paying more to be able to cancel? If your trip depends on the weather or a cruise schedule, yes. If you already know which day you're going, buy the official ticket.

Alternatives to buying direct

  • Guided tours with entry: GetYourGuide sells old-town walks with the cathedral included. They're in the guide to walking tours.
  • Cathedral + Almudaina: Tiqets sells the combo for €20.50; separately, at the official desks, you pay €18 (€10 + €8). See Almudaina Palace.
  • SM Card: €18, valid 12 months, covers the cathedral and five other monuments of the diocese. Worth it if you also plan to visit Sant Francesc or Santa Eulàlia.
  • Terraces at sunset: in summer, Visit Palma advertises a guided "Sunset Terraces" visit for €30.
  • Sightseeing bus: City Sightseeing's "Bus + 9 attractions" pass (48 h, from €65.20) includes the cathedral. It only pays off if you make four or five paid visits; see hop-on hop-off bus.
