A supercar experience in Mallorca sounds like a packaged deal, but the reality is more modest and worth knowing before you pay. We found no operator selling a supercar sunset drive with a published price and terms. What there is falls into three different things: renting the car by the day in Palma, driving in convoy behind an instructor on mountain roads, or driving a two-seater sports trike in Peguera. And if what you are after is the thrill of an engine with a view, the helicopter from Son Bonet is the option with the most reviews in the whole category.

Driving a Ferrari in Mallorca: what is really on offer

Most of the "Ferrari experiences" doing the rounds on the island are convoys on open roads behind an instructor, not laps of a track. We have not been able to confirm any track session open to the public, and the "Ferrari Tour Mallorca" was a private event for owners of the brand, not something you can book.

With that clear, here are the real options, from most to least exclusive.

Renting a sports car in Palma

Sportwagen Genssler Mallorca has its showroom at Motorworld Mallorca, Camí Vell de Llucmajor 112, in Palma. Its fleet includes Porsche, Mercedes AMG, BMW M, Audi RS, Ferrari and Lamborghini, "subject to availability", and it rents from one day to six months (sportwagen-genssler.com).

It does not publish daily prices, minimum age, years of licence held or deposit. Expect a large deposit on your card plus age and licence-history requirements: get everything in writing before you book.

Guided drive with dinner from Puerto Portals

The same company sells a "Drive & Dine" from €249: about 4 hours and some 110 km via Camp de Mar, Deià and Sóller with an instructor, in groups of no more than four cars, starting and finishing at Puerto Portals with a live-cooking dinner in the marina. It is the closest thing to a "supercar tour" that exists: Serra de Tramuntana roads, no track, with someone in front setting the pace.

Formula 1-style trikes in Peguera

Formula Tours, at Carrer de La Savina 8 in Peguera (Calvià), has no Ferraris: these are two-seater trikes styled like an F1 car. Its only "sunset" outing is this one, and it is not a supercar. Prices on its website (formulatours.es):

Route Duration 1 person 2 people
Andratx route 2 h €100 €118
Sunset Tour 2 h €100 €118
South-west to Estellencs 4 h €140 €158
Sa Foradada viewpoint 4 h €140 €158

The trick is in the last column: two people cost only €18 more than one, so share the car. The website does not publish a minimum age or years of licence held: ask when you book.

GetYourGuide has a Peguera combo of "racing car" and jet ski from €175 (4 hours, rated 4.3): check the listing for exactly which vehicle you drive. On two wheels, there is a 5-hour motorbike riding course from €349, with no reviews yet.

Helicopter tour in Mallorca: where it leaves from

All the sightseeing flights we have verified take off from Son Bonet aerodrome in Marratxí, a small airfield just north of Palma. They do not leave from Palma airport: if a taxi driver asks, do not say "the airport".

These are private flights in small helicopters, such as the Robinson R44, with up to three passengers. The price is per aircraft, not per person.

Helicopter ride price in Mallorca: routes and duration

HeliXperiences (Rotorflug Helicopters SL) flies from Son Bonet every day from 09:00 to 18:00 over the Serra de Tramuntana, Port de Sóller, Port d'Andratx and Port Adriano (helixperiences.com). The Helicopter Centre Mallorca, at the same aerodrome, has been at Son Bonet for more than 20 years.

Flight HeliXperiences The Helicopter Centre
30 min €599 €575 (Valldemossa, Sóller)
42 min €835 €765 (+ Tramuntana, Sa Calobra, Gorg Blau)
60 min €1,150 €1,090 (Andratx to Lluc)

With three passengers, the 30-minute flight works out at about €200 each. The 42-minute flight is the shortest that reaches Sa Calobra and the Gorg Blau reservoir, the most dramatic part of the mountains. HeliXperiences also has packages with lunch, wine or a boat, from €1,950.

On the platforms, the GetYourGuide panoramic helicopter tour starts at €110 for the shortest flights (from 8 minutes to 1 hour; 4.9 with almost 700 reviews). Tiqets sells a 30-minute flight from €575 and a helicopter trip from Palma from €125: for both, check whether the price is per seat or per aircraft and how long the flight lasts.

What you need to know before you fly

  • Maximum weight 130 kg per person. Say so when booking if anyone is close.
  • Passport or national ID card required. Arrive 15 minutes early.
  • Not suitable for people with serious heart conditions or severe vertigo.
  • If the flight is cancelled because of the weather, you get a refund or a new date. Book early in your trip to leave a spare day.

Which to choose for your budget

  • About €100–160: the Peguera trikes, ideally as a couple. Fun, photogenic and honest about what they are.
  • About €250: the guided drive with dinner from Puerto Portals, if you want to feel a real sports car without renting one.
  • €575–600 split three ways: the 30-minute helicopter flight. Per person it costs less than the Drive & Dine, and the views of the Tramuntana from above are in another league.
  • Price on request: renting a supercar in Palma, only if your budget stretches to the deposit.

If you prefer engines and dirt, buggies and quads are driven on a car licence and leave from next to the airport. For the sea, see jet skis and speedboats. If you would like to see the mountains from solid ground and at a gentle pace, the Valldemossa and Deià trip or the Sóller train cover the same area the helicopters fly over. Ideas for a special occasion as a couple are in Palma for couples, and everything else in things to do in Palma.

Can you drive a Ferrari in Mallorca?

Yes, by renting one in Palma or on a guided convoy on public roads, such as the Drive & Dine from Puerto Portals (from €249). We have not confirmed any track sessions for the public.

Is there a supercar sunset tour in Mallorca?

Not with an operator we could verify. The only "Sunset Tour" we found is Formula Tours' in Peguera, with F1-style two-seater trikes: 2 hours for €100 (€118 for two).

How much does a helicopter ride in Mallorca cost?

About €575–599 for a 30-minute private flight for up to three passengers; €765–835 for 42 minutes and €1,090–1,150 for an hour.

Where do helicopter tours in Mallorca leave from?

From Son Bonet aerodrome in Marratxí, north of Palma. Not from Palma airport.

What do I need for a helicopter flight?
