PlanGuide for couples
For a trip to Palma as a couple, the three best-value plans are a sunset boat trip (from €20), a hammam session (from €68 with a massage on booking sites) and the 21:30 flamenco show. Here are the times, the prices and what to avoid, such as Sundays in the old town.

Palma for couples works better in the evening than in the morning. The heat eases, the cathedral glows orange seen from the sea, and almost all the city's romantic plans (boat, hammam, flamenco, dinner) fit between 17:00 and midnight. What follows are the romantic things to do in Palma de Mallorca we have been able to check, with times and prices, and no "dreamy" restaurants that nobody can vouch for.
One warning before you start: Sunday is a bad day for the old town. The cathedral does not open for tourist visits and Bellver Castle closes at 15:00. Save Sunday for the sea.
| Plan | When | Price | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sunset catamaran (Magic) | 19:30–21:00 | €20 | Couples who want something short and cheap |
| Adults-only sunset (Oasis) | from 17:00, about 4 h | €78–82 | Couples who want no kids and no party |
| Hammam Al Ándalus | every 2 h, 10:00 to 22:00 | from €68 with massage on booking sites | A calm finish after a hot day |
| Tablao Flamenco Alma | 17:30, 19:30, 21:30 | from €35 | Before or after dinner |
| Cathedral terraces at sunset | in summer, around 19:00–20:30 | €30 | Views from the top of La Seu |
| Tasting at Bodegas Ferrer | daily, fixed times | from €21.50 per person | A wine morning inland |
It is the most requested romantic plan in Palma, and the one most often spoilt by picking the wrong boat. There are two over-18s boats with opposite moods. Barca Samba is a party: DJ, dance floor, bar, up to 112 passengers, from €49.90. Oasis is adults-only in a different key: welcome cava, finger food, paddleboarding and a small group, for €78 in spring and autumn and €82 from 1 June to 14 September. If you want to talk and watch the horizon, Oasis. If you want to dance, Barca Samba.
The Oasis sunset trip runs on the Oasis Lux, which boards at the Escala Real, below the cathedral, not at the Muelle de las Golondrinas like almost all the others. The two piers are 1.5 km apart. Check your ticket.
The budget option is Magic Catamarans' Sunset Bahía: 90 minutes, one sangria, a glass of cava or a soft drink with a snack, for €20 (Magic website). Children are allowed, so do not expect a quiet boat. We compare every departure, with month-by-month sunset times, in sunset cruises in Palma.
The time does matter
The sun sets at 21:22 at the end of June and at 19:33 on 1 October. In autumn, a 19:30 departure is already sailing in the dusk: look for one leaving between 17:00 and 18:30.
For something just for the two of you, there are private boats. A llaüt (the traditional Balearic wooden boat, slow and shaded) with a skipper leaves from the Real Club Náutico de Palma for around €590 per group, up to 5 people and 5 hours, with a swim stop at Illetes. At Club de Mar you can hire skippered sailing boats with a sunset trip from 19:00 to 21:00. Since 1 October 2026 you can no longer hire a motor boat without a nautical qualification: if you have no licence, the boat has to come with a skipper. We explain it in boat rental in Palma.

Palma de Mallorca: Foodie Walking Tour of the Old Town

Palma's Hammam Al Ándalus is a modern spa at C/ Costa i Llobera 20, next to El Corte Inglés, with cold, warm and hot pools, a steam room and massage rooms. Do not confuse it with the Banys Àrabs in the old town, a small monument you can visit but not bathe in.
Sessions start every two hours, from 10:00 to 22:00, and last 90 minutes in total, with the massage included within that time. If you arrive late, you lose minutes: they are not made up. The 22:00 session ends at 23:30, the best way to close a hot day.

The official website does not publish fixed rates: the price changes with the day and the time. GetYourGuide and Tiqets sell it from €68 with a massage; the bath without a massage can only be bought on the hammam's website. Watch the cancellation terms: booking direct, it is 48 hours, stricter than the platforms' usual 24 hours.
Rules that surprise people
Swimsuit or bikini compulsory: underwear is not allowed, and reception sells swimsuits at reception prices. No photos or video. Silence is requested. There are steps down to the pools and stairs to the massage area, so it is not wheelchair accessible.

Palma's only tablao is Tablao Flamenco Alma, at Av. de Portugal 5, five minutes' walk from Plaça d'Espanya. It opened in 2024. There are three shows a day, at 17:30, 19:30 and 21:30, each lasting an hour. The 21:30 show is the first to sell out.
There are two official tickets: show with a drink, or show with a drink and tapas (Iberian ham, Mahón cheese, Cantabrian anchovies). It does not serve dinner. If a platform advertises "show + dinner", read what is included before you pay: the venue only serves tapas.

The room is small: the VIP row is only the front one, and you see well from the standard area. It is wheelchair accessible, cancellation is free up to 24 hours before, and the house recommends dressing up a little. Son Amar, the old dinner show in Bunyola, is no longer open to the public. Mallorca: Premium Catamaran Sunset Trip with Food, Swim & VIP Area Option
4.6 (345)from €76.50
Cathedral terraces at sunset. In summer there is a guided visit to the terraces of La Seu around 19:00–20:30, for €30, in Spanish, Catalan or English. Dates change every season: check them on visitpalma.com. Under-9s are not admitted and it is not accessible. By day, the ticket with terraces costs €25. Remember the dress code: shoulders covered and nothing shorter than mid-thigh. More in Palma Cathedral.
Es Baluard on a Friday. The contemporary art museum occupies the bastion looking west over the bay. On Fridays you pay what you wish (from €0.10), and it opens Tuesday to Saturday until 20:00. From mid-September the sun sets before then: an autumn Friday is the cheapest plan on the list.
Cap Rocat. It is a luxury hotel in a former fortress in Llucmajor, near Cala Blava, outside Palma. If you are not staying, you can only get in by booking one of its restaurants: lunch at the Sea Club or a sunset dinner at La Fortaleza, with a rooftop in summer. Under-15s are not admitted, and it opens roughly from mid-March to mid-November. Catamarans from Palma sail past it. We cover it in Cap Rocat and Plaça d'Espanya.
For a wine morning without a coach, Bodegas José L. Ferrer in Binissalem (D.O. Binissalem) takes bookings from two people. Guided visits with tasting run Monday to Saturday at 11:00, 13:00 and 15:30, and on Sundays at 11:00 and 13:00, lasting about 50 minutes. The "Moll" tasting costs €21.50 per person; the "Mantonegro", with four premium wines, €27.50. Book by phone or email via its visits page. Binissalem is inland: check tib.org for how to get there.
In the city, the Mercat de Santa Catalina has counters serving tapas, wine and oysters. The counters open Monday to Saturday until 17:00, the market is closed on Sundays, and the fishmongers do not open on Mondays. If you would rather have it organised for you, there are wine and tapas tours and food walks through the old town. More ideas in food and tapas in Palma.

Mallorca: Horseback Riding Excursion and Wine Tasting
4.8 (436)from €70
Many couples stay outside the centre. From Palmanova, TIB 104 runs to Palma every 15 minutes. Palma Cruises offers pick-up in Calvià, including Palmanova, for its trips from Palma, at a supplement. Life & Sea sails from S'Arenal, at the eastern end of the bay: its 3-hour sunset catamaran with a barbecue costs €75.
Mind the rules. In Magaluf (the Punta Ballena area), Playa de Palma and S'Arenal, drinking in the street is fined €500 to €1,500, shops cannot sell alcohol from 21:30 to 08:00, and there are no open bars or happy hours. Santa Catalina, the old town and the Passeig Marítim are outside those zones, although Palma also fines street drinking. More in Palma nightlife and towns and beaches near Palma.
Watch out for the "cala romántica" (romantic cove): there is a Cala Romàntica in Mallorca, but it is not in Palma: it appears on the routes of the glass-bottom boats that leave from Porto Cristo, on the east coast, an hour from the city.
Near Palma, the prettiest coves are reached by boat. The bay catamarans anchor off the Llucmajor coast: Cova Verda, Cap Rocat, Cala Vella and Cala Blava. Magic's Sea Tapas (15:30–19:00, €39) stops for an hour and a half at Cala Vella, the longest stop for that price. By bus, EMT 4 runs from the centre to Cala Major, Cala Nova and Illetes every 10 minutes on weekdays. We compare beaches in Palma beaches.
An evening plan that works
A sunset boat trip (from €20), a session at Hammam Al Ándalus (90 minutes, from €68 with a massage on booking sites), the flamenco at Tablao Alma and, in summer, the sunset visit to the cathedral terraces (€30).
Oasis, if you want peace and quiet: adults only, cava and a small group, €78–82. Barca Samba is also over-18s only, but it is a party boat with a DJ. Magic costs €20 and allows children.
Yes, you book for both of you at once. Sessions start every two hours from 10:00 to 22:00, swimwear is compulsory and direct bookings need 48 hours' notice to cancel.
No. It offers the show with a drink or with a drink and tapas. Eat before the 21:30 show or after the 17:30 or 19:30 ones.
It is not in Palma: it is on the east coast, on the boat routes from Porto Cristo, an hour away. Near Palma, the pretty coves are Cala Vella and Cala Blava, by boat, or Illetes on EMT 4.
Sea or beach. The cathedral does not open for tourist visits and Bellver closes at 15:00 (it is free that day). The bay boats and the hammam do run.
